JMU Arboretum

This place was so beautiful. The tree behind us, that's purple is called Red Bush. I don't get it. It's purple. These are all over Virginia. There is so much color here in the Spring. It reminds me of fall, but with vibrant, beautiful colors, beautiful blossoms everywhere.
There were ducks in the pond that they enjoyed feeding. Even 'tweens like to feed ducks.

There were all these trails, and bridges to walk along. This place is going to be even more beautiful next month. There is even a bike trail that goes through this, YEAH!!!

Humpback Rock

40 Minutes -- more like an hour. It was a hot one, 90 degrees.
The view was spectacular. I can't wait to do this in the Fall.

Yep, no fear. Alexis is looking right over a 2,300 drop to the ground. This was hike was so much fun. After the hike, we went to Rita's in Charlottesville. They have the best Italian ice.

Six Flags, Baltimore, MD

We went to the Dogwood Festival,Thursday, in Charlottesville. They had fair rides and fireworks for the celebration. Alexis is also enjoying there being three amusement parks within three hours of our house. She's a complete thrill seeker. Saturday we went to Six Flags. They have a roller coaster that takes you 20 stories high, with a 200-foot plunge to the ground, traveling at 75 mph, it was so much fun. It took me a while to catch my breath after that one.

Alexis and Valerie tried the sky coaster. It takes you 165 feet up in the air and then ...

The National Zoo

The National Zoo is great and it's free. You've got to love the Smithsonians. China gave the US some pandas, it had been a nice day out and it was fun to watch them, munching on food, and rubbing up against trees. There was also a new baby gorilla, really cute.

Outer Banks, NC

This is the most beautiful beach we have ever been to.
They were so happy to be woken up to find their baskets in the morning. Look at how excited Alexis is!!!
We colored Easter Eggs.

Currituck light house.

Hey, Where's the water?

It was spring break and Easter weekend, so we had to check out the Outer Banks of NC. So beautiful. We had a blast. The water was a little cool, but that didn't stop Alexis, Maggie, and Anna from playing in the water. They spent hours in the water, while I got to relax on the beach, HEAVEN!!! We played in the sand, buried each other in the sand, went to an aquarium, a lighthouse, watched movies in the evening. The Easter bunny even surprised us Sunday. The best thing this, it's only 5 1/2 hours from where we live. I love living so close the the ocean.
